SHAKING THINGS UP IN 2021

I am revisiting this photo that I posted to instagram back in April. We were all adjusting to working from home, anxious and unsure of what Covid and 2020 had in store for us. Looking back, it is really hard to believe what we have all gone through. It has been no easy task getting through this past year. Let's be honest, we have all had our personal struggles taking care of our health, both mental and physical, adjusting our family life to a new norm and managing our businesses and careers through this crazy time. On top of that we have been equally worried for our family, friends and neighbors. If there is one word that I think sums up 2020, it is resilience. I have been insprired by so many who have pushed through, especially those that have faced hardships.

On a personal level I am counting my blessings. At the start of 2020 we launched the Semihandmade Showroom in Chicago. I cannot express my gratitude to this amazing company and am so thankful to be a part of their team. I have been so busy designing and installing kitchens around the city and met and worked with so many wonderful clients. In fact, it has been a whirlwind and somedays I have to pinch myself that I get to do what I love every single day.

To my amazing clients, there are no words that can express my gratitude. This past year was stressful, but together we had a little fun designing beautiful spaces together. I appreciate you all and am so thankful you allowed me in to your homes. Together we managed a lot of Covid inventory/construction issues - and for that we owe ourselves a pat on the back.

I am not a big fan of New Year resolutions and this year I think we can cut ourselves some slack.

But looking forward to the new year I am ready to:

"SHAKE THINGS UP"

in 2021.

Seven is my lucky number. So here are the seven things I am most focused on this year at Bespoke Redesign.

  1. My business is growing and I am bringing on a passionate design associate to join me on this fun adventure. To say I am excited is an understatement. Look for an announcement early in the new year.

  2. Expanded Services - with our growth, I am looking to expand and improve our design service offerings. More information to follow and look for website updates.

  3. Better Content - I know you all love fun before and afters and lots photos of client projects. I am excited I have found an excellentl interior photographer and videographer that will highlight my projects better than I can. With new photos and videos, I will be updating my website portfolio along with improving my social media accounts.

  4. Social Media - This is one of those things that make me feel really old. Managing a social media account is stressful, especially when you start comparing yourself to your design idols. But I'm going to start putting myself out there more on Instagram stories, being real and being me. Plus will be adding lots more pretty pictures.

  5. New kitchen line - This is so exciting. Semihandmade will be announcing a new kitchen cabinet line that I will be showcasing in the studio. I'm pumped and can't wait to introduce it to you all. Big announcement will be coming soon.

  6. Blogging - I am going to do my best to blog on a more consistent basis but I'm going to be honest... this is a tough one for me. I am a visual person, so sitting down and writing is like going to the dentist to have a cavity filled. It's scary but necessary. Eek.. I'm going to give it a go, so be patient with me. And to the grammar police... please go away. Let's be gentle with each other as we work outside of our comfort zones.

  7. To my Fusion Mineral Paint peeps - I miss seeing you in the studio - Just know, I am still fully stocked and always here for demos and advice. Please make an appointment to visit. I am hoping sometime in 2021 to start our workshops back up. So fun to hang out with friends and create.

As we enter this New Year, deep down we are still unsure of what 2021 will bring. But I sense we are ready for what life throws our way and look forward to better days ahead. I know I am. So let's raise a glass and toast 2021. Let's do this.
