My name is Tracy Cimba and I am a certified Interior Stylist and Color Consultant. I am a City girl at heart, born and raised in Toronto. Happily now living in Chicago, we have recently downsized and moved out of the North Shore suburbs and in to the City. We shed the big house and are now proud owners of our own Vintage Chicago Bungalow. Renovating our 100 year old home has been a pure joy. I am enamored by it's proud history, strong character and those original stained glass windows got me at "hello". In general I have an obsession with historic Chicago architecture. Recently too, we purchased a new construction studio condo in Toronto. If you are interested, you can follow my personal blog at www.urbanemptynest.com.
I've been lucky to live in arguably four of the coolest cities in North America, Toronto, Seattle, Nashville and Chicago... in that order, each with their own unique design vibe and lifestyle. So many amazing adventures with family, friends and a multitude of career experiences. As I look back, there has been one common denominator and passion... my love for interior design and real estate marketing. From launching and owning "A Detailed Home" - a design publication and interior styling business in Seattle, owning and producing Nashville "Homes and Land" Magazine, a renowned national real estate marketing publication, and my Interior Stylist and home staging career, now in Chicago, interior design and home marketing has been an integral part of my life.
I am also THRILLED to announce the opening Bespoke - vintage shop and design studio - a lifelong dream. It fulfills my creative design pursuits and love for all things vintage. The Shop and Design Studio is located in the historic Chicago bungalow community - North Mayfair - my new neighborhood. I have fallen in love with the community and look forward to meeting so many new neighbors and friends. Pop in and say Hi!
It goes without saying, my biggest inspiration is my family. I'm a lucky girl! No need for explanation, they're just awesome, super fun people and my best friends.
My creative inspiration and idol... my Mom - hands down. She is more artistic than I could ever hope to be. A hippie at heart, she taught me that you don't need a lot of money to have a beautiful home. It's the family heirlooms and personal treasures collected along lifes' journey that have the most meaning. And a good coat of paint can do wonders. We didn't have much growing up, but she filled every home with her artistic and design talents, paint, custom art, macrame, vintage furniture found for next to nothing refurbished and brought back to life. Rooms were re-arranged constantly, making space for a new funky piece she would rescue. I loved it. And without her realizing it... she taught me everything I know. I'm grateful and like I said... a lucky girl. Please stop by the shop to view or purchase some of her original works of art.
